What is the Scientology Freezone

"Freedom from is all right, only so long as there is a place to be free to. An endless desire for freedom from is a perfect trap, a fear of all things."

The late Bill Robertson originally coined the term Freezone in 1983, and the concept has spread throughout the world with thousands of people using and practicing the technology of Lafayette Ron Hubbard in what is popularly knows as the Freezone but now more accurately defined as the Scientology field. This field is basically split into two factions. The Freezone and the Indies.

In the freezone, many of these groups practice the original philosophy of Lafayette Ron Hubbard, applying the same principles and applications. However there are also groups which practice altered versions of the original technology and naturally the same benefits obtained from Ronís discoveries and workabilities can not be guaranteed if one were to depart from the known workable philosophy. It has been noted that the Church of Scientology now comes into this category since the departure of its founder. This means that one needs to be circumspect (careful not to take risks) when dipping ones toes in the freezone as one is dealing with one's own spirituality.

The Indie field, on the other hand, adheres strictly to the original teachings of L. Ron Hubbard and prefers to remain 'on source', as it were. In addition there are people who have learned about the philosophy in the Freezone for the first time without the influence of the 'official' church. The majority of these are in the USA but there are many others in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK to name but a few countries. The Field includes many groups and organizations around the planet as well as individual auditors and people many of whom have an appreciation of Scientology and it's founder Lafayette Ron Hubbard. But, again, not all follow L. Ron Hubbard and some alter the philosophy and technology or even invent their own.

The Association of Professional Independent Scientologists (APIS) is a Indie group that has been specifically set up for the benefit of all those who wish to participate in Ron's unaltered philosophy and enjoy the unparalleled spiritual gains obtainable as a result.
